16 de junho, às 19h, no Paço da Liberdade, a instalação fotográfica
“Caractere(s): Retratos em Preto e Branco”, do artista visual Tom Lisboa. Nesta mostra, a imaginação do espectador é posta à prova porque todas as figuras humanas retratadas são, à primeira vista, invisíveis. O que revela as fisionomias e os contornos destes personagens é a leitura dos textos que foram colocados no lugar de cada imagem. Basta ler para ver.
No início, Caractere(s) foi concebida por Tom como um projeto de criação e intervenção coletivas. Durante os meses de março e abril, mais de
100 pessoas, de
40 cidades, “escreveram” quase
300 “retratos em preto e branco”. Em maio, este material foi exposto na internet e, simultaneamente, vários interventores levaram estas obras para as ruas de Curitiba, Florianópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Bauru, Vitória e Goiânia.
Agora, no espaço expositivo do Paço, Caractere(s) aparece reformulada. A primeira mudança diz respeito ao conteúdo. Integralmente baseada em uma pesquisa do artista, serão exibidos
64 retratos de personagens emblemáticos da literatura brasileira. As dimensões também foram alteradas. O antigo formato, mais portátil, com obras de 18x14,5cm, foi expandido para 115x89cm. O catálogo, inédito até então, traz obras que podem ser destacadas e enviadas pelo correio ou espalhadas pela cidade. Deste modo, o visitante pode dar continuidade ao trabalho de intervenção proposto no projeto original.

Photographic installation of characters (in) visible occupies the Palace of Liberty. Tom Lisbon recreates Character (s), its eighth urban intervention, the closed space of a gallery.
Opens on June 16 at 19h, in the Palace of Freedom, the photographic installation? Character (s): Portraits in Black and White?, Visual artist Tom Lisbon. In this show, the viewer's imagination is put to the test because all the human figures are, at first sight, invisible. This reveals the faces and contours of these characters is the reading of texts that were put in place in each image. Just read and see.
At first, Character (s) designed by Tom as a project of creation and collective action. During the months of March and April, over 100 people from 40 cities? Written? almost 300? portraits in black and white?. In May, this material was exposed on the Internet, while various stakeholders brought these works to the streets of Curitiba, Florianopolis, Rio de Janeiro, Bauru, Victoria and Goiânia.
Now, in the exhibition space of the Palace, Character (s) appears recast. The first change relates to the content. Wholly based on a survey of the artist, are displayed 64 portraits of emblematic characters in Brazilian literature. The dimensions were also modified. The old format, more portable, with works of 18x14, 5cm, was expanded to 115x89cm. The catalog, first-time, brings works that can be detached and mailed or placed around the city. Thus, the visitor can continue the work proposed intervention in the original design.
