Com o tema "Do fundo abismo nascem as altas montanhas", a quinta edição dos Seminários Internacionais Museu Vale propõe pensar a crise no sentido positivo de sua superação. O propósito de investigar a questão como superar uma crise? Nasce da necessidade de refletir sobre o que é crise, a fim de compreender tanto a sua constituição, intrínseca à própria condição humana, quanto o que significa a sua superação.

With the theme "From the bottom abyss born the high mountains", the fifth edition of the International Seminars Valley Museum proposes to discuss the crisis in a positive way to overcome them. The purpose of investigating the question how to overcome a crisis? From the need to reflect on what is a crisis in order to understand both its constitution, intrinsic to the human condition, and what it means to overcome them.

Interpretada geralmente como o que deve ser evitado ou aniquilado, toda crise é vista pelo senso comum como uma maldição. Todavia, essa visão comum e geral, ao esperar pela ausência de crise, preconcebe a possibilidade de uma existência sem dor, perfeita e paradisíaca, em que todos os homens são igualmente felizes. Tal preconceito, por não aceitar a vida como ela é e, assim, negar a sua finitude, estabelece uma péssima relação com a dor, com a falta, com a crise, proporcionando o pessimismo que assola a modernidade – nada vale a pena, tudo é indiferente –, diagnosticado pelo filósofo Friedrich Nietzsche como niilismo. Ao contrário dessa negação, a assunção da própria finitude da vida descobre que “é preciso ter ainda caos dentro de si para poder dar à luz uma estrela dançante”, e faz da crise motivo de superação, criação.

Usually interpreted as what should be avoided or annihilated, every crisis is perceived by common sense as a curse. However, this common vision and general, while waiting for the absence of crisis, preconceived possibility of an existence without pain, and perfect paradise, where all men are equally happy. Such prejudice, not to accept life as it is and thus deny their finitude sets a bad relationship with the pain, the lack, with the crisis, providing the pessimism that haunts modernity - nothing is worth everything is immaterial - diagnosed by the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche and nihilism. Instead of this denial, the assumption of finiteness of life itself finds that "we still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star" and makes the ground for overcoming the crisis, creation.

Com o objetivo de compreender como é do fundo abismo que nascem as altas montanhas, a quinta edição dos Seminários Internacionais Museu Vale convidou treze palestrantes nacionais e internacionais, de diferentes áreas do conhecimento e da arte, para pensar a crise em suas diversas perspectivas. Cabe repetir que, desde a sua primeira edição, estes seminários buscam pensar o horizonte contemporâneo, no sentido de, por um lado, buscar perceber a indigência humana e social de nosso mundo e, por outro, encontrar possibilidades de sua superação. Juntamente com as exposições de arte e seu trabalho de arte-educação, o Museu Vale tem a grata satisfação de produzir estes seus Seminários Internacionais, participando de um modo amplo e versátil na construção e no desenvolvimento de nossa cultura contemporânea.

In order to understand how deep the abyss of being born the high mountains, the fifth edition of the International Seminars Valley Museum invited thirteen national and international speakers from different areas of knowledge and art, to think the crisis in its different perspectives. It is worth repeating that, since its first edition, such workshops seek to think the contemporary horizon, towards the one hand, seek to understand human and social poverty of our world and, second, find ways to overcome them. Along with art exhibitions and his work in art, the museum is worth the pleasure of their produce these international seminars, participating in a broad and versatile in the construction and development of our contemporary culture.
